Well Trained – A Stand-up Comedy Show by Atul Khatri in Muscat

Can CEOs crack jokes? Turns out, yes. Meet Atul Khatri—once a corporate leader, now a full-time stand-up comic. 

After stepping down from his CEO role in 2016, he swapped boardrooms for stages and hasn’t looked back since. You may have caught him on Netflix’s Comedians of the World, where he represented India among 47 top comics from around the globe. Now in his mid-50s, Atul brings his trademark “seasoned yet sharp” perspective to the mic.

He kicks off his latest set by thanking the audiences who still choose live comedy in a streaming world, before diving into hilarious takes on everything from attending the so-called “Wedding of the Century” alone, to losing old college friends to America, and laughing at their tales when they return home. 

His material playfully contrasts the America of dreams with today’s America of tips, and also peeks into his own life, like being a grandfather, cohabiting with his dog Mr. Butter Khatri (who’s dangerously close to beating him in Instagram followers), and navigating over 30 years of marriage. After two kids and one grandchild, he proudly declares himself “well-trained.” 

Named by CNN-IBN as one of India’s top comedians, Atul continues to be celebrated as one of the pioneers of Indian stand-up. His humor is rooted in everyday experiences, making his shows both hilarious and deeply relatable—a true masterclass in observational comedy.
